Melati Green Garden - Pekanbaru, Riau (February 1 - 2, 2025) - Yayasan Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) successfully organized a coaching activity for KSE scholarship recipients of Riau University (UNRI). This activity aims to develop the potential creativity and innovation of the scholarship recipients, equip them with leadership skills, and strengthen their role in community empowerment through the Community Development (COMDEV) program. The hope is that through this coaching, the students can be more confident in developing themselves and applying the knowledge and experience gained to have a positive impact on society, especially in Riau. This activity was attended by 51 KSE UNRI students. The resource persons for this activity were Hengky Poerwowidagdo, Secretary & Chief Operating Officer of KSE and Maya Dintasari, Donor Relations at KSE.
In the first session, the students were divided into two groups. The activity began with an introduction session, where each of the KSE UNRI scholarship recipients expressed their future goals and hopes that they wanted to achieve This session aims to explore their potential, set a vision, and design concrete steps through coaching.
In the second session, groups were formed based on the interests and talents of the students, consisting of the Event team, Technology for Indonesia, Entrepreneur, General Waste Bank, and Elementary Waste Bank. Each team then conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to explore ideas and design creative solutions to the challenges faced in the Comdev program. They also compiled an activity plan along with a timeline for its execution so that the program runs effectively and sustainably.
In the last session, each team was challenged to make creative videos and yells as a form of expression of enthusiasm and togetherness. This activity was not only a showcase of creativity, but also strengthened the sense of cohesiveness among the students. As an appreciation for their hard work and dedication, each team received an award for their contribution to the coaching.
Closing the event, Hengky delivered an inspiring message, “Make this process the first step to keep growing. Creativity and innovation are not only for yourself, but also to benefit the wider community.” With this message, the coaching session officially ended at 17.00 WIB, leaving a new spirit and motivation for the students to continue to work and have an impact.
After the event was officially closed, the KSE UNRI students handed over gifts as a token of gratitude to the Yayasan KSE for taking the time to share knowledge and experience with them in Lancang Kuning, Riau Province. This warm moment symbolized the spirit of togetherness and commitment to continue contributing to society.
