The Indonesian government has taken various ways to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus. One of them is to carry out COVID-19 vaccination activities, which have been intensified since the beginning of 2021. PT Kimia Farma Tbk seeks to assist the government in accelerating the formation of herd immunity or group immunity against the COVID-19 Virus. One of them is by holding Vaccination Gotong Royong or VGR activities. This Gotong Royong Vaccination activity uses the Sinopharm vaccine type. This vaccine is of course different from the government vaccine, the Sinopharm type VGR vaccination targets people aged 18 years who have not received the vaccine at all.
Gotong Royong vaccination activities were also carried out at several universities, one of which was Andalas University. This activity was carried out by health workers from Kimia Farma and assisted by Andalas University KSE students. Vaccination at Andalas University was carried out twice, namely: dose 1 was carried out on 18 November 2021 at the Convention Hall of Andalas University, and dose 2 was carried out on 9 December 2021 at the PKM Seminar Building, Andalas University. In dose 2 vaccine activities, there were 115 people who were injected. In dose 2 vaccination activities, dose 1 injection was also reopened for the community, and 22 people were injected. Then, for people who have not injected dose 2 during the activity, they are directed to vaccinate at the Kimia Farma Padang Clinical Laboratory.
Vaccination activities went smoothly and without any obstacles. People who came for the vaccine followed the flow regularly, from registration to observation. In the implementation of the vaccine dose 2, there were also no KIPI (Post-Immunisation Adverse Events), where the community was allowed to wait first for 15 minutes and then allowed to go home.
It is hoped that from this activity, the community can receive a complete dose of vaccine so as to help accelerate the formation of herd immunity.
