Online, Zoom Meeting - Friday, March 21, 2025 Alumni of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia Class of 2003 (Srikandi) Together with the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE) Strengthen knowledge related to Green Economy for KSE Students to encourage the creation of a young generation who cares about the environment and has a sustainable development perspective. This activity took place online through Zoom Meeting and was attended by 109 participants KSE scholarship recipients. This activity aims to encourage economic growth that is in line with environmental sustainability by instilling early awareness to KSE scholarship recipients.
The event opened at 14.00 WIB with the Master of Ceremony (MC), followed by singing the Indonesia Raya song and KSE Mars. This was followed by a speech by Mrs. Dessi Yuliana as Treasurer II of KSE Foundation. She expressed her appreciation and gratitude to Srikandi for their cooperation as one of KSE's donors. Through this program, it is hoped that the Beswan KSE can be wiser in understanding the importance of green economy, and be able to become agents of change who encourage the creation of sustainable development in the environment around them.
The next event was the Sharing Session material session moderated by Herlin Sri Wahyuni, KSE alumni of Brawijaya University. The material themed Green Economy in Indonesia was delivered by Mr. Matt Danalan Saragih, Managing Director of PT Sosial Bisnis Indonesia (SOBI) as well as FEUI alumni class of 2003. In his presentation, he explained that currently the earth has experienced overshoot capacity, which is a condition when human demand for natural resources exceeds the earth's capacity to restore it.
This is caused by a combination of increasing population, irresponsible over-consumption, and massive deforestation. Therefore, he emphasized that “students receiving KSE scholarships must begin to care about environmental issues, dare to act through real action, and be able to inspire and raise public awareness regarding the importance of environmental sustainability” said Mr. Matt.
The next event was a material sharing session experiencing overshoot capacity, which is a condition when human needs for natural resources exceed The event continued with a question and answer session which was greeted enthusiastically by the students. They asked questions about the role of the younger generation in the green economy, the challenges of its implementation, and concrete steps that can be taken. From the various questions that arose, it was evident that there was both anxiety and hope that the younger generation would be more concerned and active in promoting environmental sustainability. The question and answer session closed the sharing session with Mr. Matt. The event was closed at 16:30 with a group photo.
