Every year, the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation holds a KSE Scholarship Opening Ceremony to welcome new KSE Scholarship recipients. This year, the 2023/2024 KSE Scholarship Opening Ceremony was successfully held on Saturday, September 9 2023 online via the Zoom Meetings platform.

The activity, which was guided by Dinda Yusuf Tsary Arrofi (KSE Scholarship Fellow, Padjadjaran University) and Tiwi (KSE Scholarship Alumni, Jambi University) was attended by around 834 participants consisting of KSE donors, KSE Foundation Management, KSE Community Association Management, New KSE Fellows, and Scholarship Alumni KSE from 35 PTNs throughout Indonesia.

The event began with remarks from the Executive Chairman of KSE, namely Marsangap P.Tamba. In his speech, the Chief Executive of KSE said that the number of recipients of the 2023/2024 KSE Scholarship was 1,515 students out of 28,000 applicants throughout Indonesia. With this strict acceptance selection, Marsangap reminded all scholarship recipients to always be grateful for being able to overcome all challenges in life, including the challenges that have been overcome in the KSE Scholarship selection. “The second point is useful. KSE Scholarship recipients must study seriously and enthusiastically, be active in KSE activities, active in building the community. "Don't forget to come back to KSE when you have graduated to continue activities and movements together, contributing to a better Indonesia," said the Chief Executive of KSE in his speech.

Then, the event continued with the Symbolization of the 2023-2024 KSE Scholarship Program from Marsangap P. Tamba to representatives of KSE Syiah Kuala University (USK), KSE Cenderawasih University (Uncen), KSE Sam Ratulangi University (UNSRAT), and KSE Nusa Cendana University Kupang (Undana ) as a sign of the start of the 2023-2024 KSE Scholarship program.

On this occasion, the Community Development program, which is one of the KSE Scholarship programs, also showed off through a presentation presented by Andita from the Sriwijaya University KSE Association. In her presentation, Andita explained that Community Development is a self-development activity that collaborates with people who live close to the location of the university for the KSE Scholarship recipients.

To further increase the spirit of contribution and collaboration for the 2023/2024 KSE Scholarship recipients, the KSE Foundation and donors gave a talk show with the theme "Youth Contribution in Sustainable Development Goals". This talk show was guided by moderator Oktrido Asrialdi who is a Senior Talent Acquisition at ALTO Network and a KSE Alumni from Andalas University.

The speakers in this session were Chapman Taylor (Capital International Investors, Karya Salemba Empat - Board of Trustees, US-Indonesia Society – Board of Advisors), Mirza Adityaswara (Co-founder and Board of Trustee Chairman of Karya Salemba Empat Foundation), Christanto Pranata (PT. Cikarang Listrindo), and Felita Elizabeth (Donor Relations of KSE). The four speakers explained how important it is for the younger generation to participate in developing Indonesia. What KSE Scholarship recipients can do to implement sustainable development goals is education and community development through the Community Development (Comdev) program. "Through the Comdev program, scholarship recipients will empower the community to carry out many programs related to the 17 SDGs, such as recycling waste, producing food, etc. "Of course, the Comdev program will make society better and more sustainable," added Mrs. Felita Elizabeth in her presentation.

Furthermore, the event ended with an introduction to the KSE Scholarship program and the KSE Foundation and its management by Maya Dintasari and Rico Panandista. Meanwhile, Maya and Rico explained that the KSE Scholarship has a superior program in the form of KSE Camp which KSE Scholarship recipients can take part in, namely Camp Technology for Indonesia (TFI), Camp Entrepreneur Academy (EA), Camp Leadership, and others.
