IPB University students receiving scholarships from Yayasan Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) utilise sewers in Situ Gede Village, West Bogor Sub-district, Bogor City for fish farming using the biofloc system. The KSE IPB Community Development programme is supported by PT Manulife Aset Management Indonesia as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and the government of Situ Gede Village, Bogor City.

Present at the inauguration of this community development programme on 25 August 2022 were KSE Foundation Program Division Rico Panandista, KSE Donor Relations Maya Dintasari, PT Manulife Aset Management Indonesia representative Siti Herlinda, Situ Gede Village Head Kartini Wulandari, and other relevant stakeholders.

Lurah Situ Gede Kartini Wulandari said that the revitalisation programme was very helpful for the Situ Gede community. She especially appreciated the steps taken by the KSE scholarship students in assisting the community.

"Hopefully we can synergise again in other programmes to make the Situ Gede area not only physically done by the provincial government, but in its empowerment we can work together again," Kartini said (25/8).

Meanwhile, Siti Herlinda revealed, usually PT Manulife Aset Management Indonesia provides CSR in the form of education, such as scholarships, one of which is in collaboration with the KSE Foundation to distribute to students. Then there is also a bridge renovation programme for school children's access.

He explained, this year his party started a sustainable and sustainable environmental empowerment programme. One of them is the revitalisation of sewers with fish farming carried out in Situ Gede Village with IPB students receiving KSE scholarships.

"With fish farming (it can) improve the standard of living of the community. It empowers the community to be more prosperous. The purpose of CSR is to provide a sustainable and sustainable impact," he said.

He hopes that the euphoria of fish farming will not stop at the inauguration. Furthermore, this fish farming can be continued and well maintained by the community.

Head of the Situgede Urban Village Community Empowerment Board (LPM) Helly Rubiansyah said the revitalisation of sewers into catfish farming is very beneficial for Situ Gede residents.

"Our hope is that it can be transmitted to other RWs so that the welfare and quality of life in Situ Gede will improve and this catfish is very good for the future for children who are stunted because in terms of (health) nutrition it is very sufficient. Hopefully this catfish programme can become a flagship programme in Situ Gede," he added.
