Students who received the Indofood Sukses Makmur (BISMA) Scholarship held a national seminar entitled "The Role of Youth in Supporting National Resilience in the Era of Things Welcoming the Industrial Revolution 4.0" at Graha Sanusi, Padjadjaran University (Unpad) Bandung, Saturday (22/9/2018).

The national seminar or Semnas involving a number of students from 31 State Universities which are members of the BISMA Nusantara Association was opened by the Director of Education and Student Affairs, Wawan Hermawan, who symbolically sounded the angklung.

At the opening, there were also CSR Manager PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, Patricia Lamidin; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE), Mirza Adityaswara; and two keynote speakers, Head of the Industrial Technology Division of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Bambang Riznanto; and Director General of Postal and Information Resources and Equipment, Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir Ismail.

Chief Executive, Risqi Kelvin Kusnandar, said that the national seminar was a concrete form for students receiving Indofood scholarships to apply the knowledge they received from training that had been carried out previously.

"As BISMA recipients, apart from educational scholarships, we also take part in four stages of soft skills training," said Risqi Kelvin Kusnandar, Chief Executive of Semnas in his speech at Graha Sanusi Unpad Bandung, Saturday (22/9/2018).

According to Risqi, the theme of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and one of the main components is the Internet of Things (IoT), because in the second era, this is influencing various aspects of human life, including opportunities and challenges.

For this reason, Risqi reminded the younger generation as the largest IoT users in Indonesia, they need to increase their knowledge, understand and deepen IoT, so that they can play an active role in utilizing IoT-based technology to support national resilience.

In the National Seminar, Chairman of the KSE Foundation and Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Mirza Adityaswara delivered a Keynote Speech on the topic of Bank Indonesia's role in the digital economy.

Apart from that, the Semnas also presented speakers including; Andry Wiryanto, Vice President Engineering and Technology PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk Bogasari Division; Andri Rahmadhani, from Embedded Engineer of Bukalapak; and Cania Citta Irlanie, from Content Creator and Youtuber or Vlogger GEOLIVE ID.

Through Semnas, which presented experienced presenters, the Director of Education and Student Affairs at Unpad, Wawan Hermawan, admitted that he really appreciated the initiative of BISMA students and appreciated the management of Indofood and the KSE Foundation for supporting them both morally and materially.

For your information, the Bisma Program is a scholarship program resulting from collaboration between PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (Indofood) and the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE), which has been running since 2008.

Not only providing educational funds, the BISMA program is also integrated with tiered training called the Indofood Leadership Camp (ILC, covering aspects of leadership, love for one's country and the concept of character development and personal potential.

The Chairman of the KSE Board of Trustees said, with this series of ILC activities which closed with the BISMA National Seminar, it was hoped that the participants would be able to implement the knowledge and provisions that had been provided.

Similar hopes were also expressed by the Chairman of the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE), Marsangap P. Tamba.

"Hopefully this can be useful for students in developing personal competence, interaction, teamwork, creativity, courage to take risks, training leadership skills, and being able to delegate tasks and be ready to compete in the post-campus world," said Marsangap.
