Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) together with Give2Asia has carried out the 2021 Technology for Indonesia (TFI) Implementation activities in Semarang City on 15-21 November 2021.
The activity is the final stage of the entire Technology for Indonesia (TFI) 2021 coaching series which has been carried out from December 2020 to March 2021. After passing the selection and judging stages, 18 selected innovations were created by 21 participants from various universities (some of which were created in groups). These works were then implemented directly to the community in Semarang City as a pilot for implementation in other regions as well as the first step in implementing community development (comdev).
This implementation activity was carried out in four locations, three in Semarang City and one in Demak Regency. The locations in Semarang City are the comdev area of the UNDIP KSE Association in Sumurboto Village, a cattle farm in Gedawang Village, and Rowosari Community Health Centre. Meanwhile, the location in Demak Regency is the Brackish Water and Marine Fish Cultivation Centre (BBIAPL) in Sidorejo Village, Sayung District.

During the activity, the task of the participants was to create/design or duplicate their innovations and then socialise them to the community in the form of an exhibition. However, there were some innovative works that were not possible to duplicate in a short time, so they were immediately socialised and used in the community. Then, all their innovative works were handed over to the communities in the four locations to be continued by the communities themselves.
The exhibition and symbolic handover of all innovation works as well as the closing of the activity was carried out on the last day, Sunday, 21 November 2021 in Sumurboto Village which was attended by Ir. Hj. Hevearita G. Rahayu, M.Sos (Deputy Mayor of Semarang City), community leaders, and local residents. They gave a positive response and hoped that this activity would have a good impact on the surrounding community and that all the innovations that had been implemented would be sustainable.
As an initial step in this sustainability, a community development programme will be implemented in Demak Regency for Hydroponics, Banana Peel Soap, Touchless Handsainitizer, and POC (Liquid Organic Fertiliser).
