Jakarta, September 19, 2024 – In an effort to raise public awareness about the importance of financial literacy, Yayasan Karya Salemba Empat (KSE), in collaboration with PT Bank Negara Indonesia Sekuritas (BNIS), PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia (UBS), and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), successfully held a Financial Literacy event. The event, which took place at the Indonesia Stock Exchange Building, was attended by 95 KSE scholarship recipients from 8 of KSE’s partner universities.
The event began with warm opening remarks from representatives of the involved institutions. Wati Buwanawati, Independent Commissioner of PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia, opened by emphasizing the importance of financial literacy for society's well-being. Echoing her sentiments, Risa E. Rustam, Director of Finance and Human Resources at the Indonesia Stock Exchange, highlighted the critical role of the IDX in supporting an inclusive capital market. Fitri Rohma, Head of Retail Brokerage at PT BNI Sekuritas, and Adrian Karim Januar, Donor Relations at Yayasan Karya Salemba Empat, also expressed their appreciation for the established collaboration and their hopes that the event would significantly benefit the participants.
Following the opening remarks, the event continued with a series of engaging presentations. Adjie Bagoes Hermanto from IDX’s Market Development Division provided an in-depth understanding of the capital market, covering topics from the types of investment instruments to how to start investing. Diky Afrian from BNIS introduced digital investment products offered by BIONS, BNI Sekuritas’ online investment platform. UBS contributed with an interactive **Investment Games** session, where participants practiced the knowledge they had gained through a simulated investment game. As a closing, Joshua Tanja delivered a presentation on career opportunities in the capital market industry and shared tips on how to start a career in the field.
In addition to the presentations, participants were invited to visit the investment gallery and take group photos. This activity aimed to provide a more interactive and enjoyable experience for the participants. Karya Salemba Empat hopes that this event serves as a starting point for participants to enhance their financial literacy and make smarter investment decisions. The collaboration between KSE, BNIS, UBS, and IDX is expected to continue and provide positive contributions to the people of Indonesia.
