Bandung, Saturday - 6/4/2019 -Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) - Along with the times, the world of investment and capital markets is increasingly in demand by ordinary people. People can easily invest in the stock exchange to store wealth. Responding to this challenge, PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia in collaboration with Yayasan Karya Salemba Empat held a Financial Literacy Workshop with the theme "Getting to Know the Capital Market with PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia", held at the FPIPS Auditorium, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The workshop presented several speakers, including Watty Buwanawati (Commissioner of PT. UBS Sekuritas Indonesia), Agung Prabowo (Managing Director Head of Corporate Client Solutions Indonesia), Darendra Nareshwara (Equity Sales Trader PT. UBS Sekuritas Indonesia), and Masayu Susilo (Executive Assistant / Office Manager PT. UBS Sekuritas Indonesia).
The event began with a Merak Dance performance by KSE UPI scholarship recipients, followed by the opening and presentation session. Agung Prabowo started the seminar session with a topic about why we should invest in stocks. "In investing, we need to analyse first in terms of macroeconomics and microeconomics," said Agung. Next, Agung Prabowo held fun games accompanied by Masayu Susilo. The game was very easy, the audience was asked to get into groups and discuss how much money to invest in several sectors, with economic conditions in the year concerned. The next session was presented by Darendra Nareshwara who talked about his experience as an Equity Sales Trader at PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia. He said that although not from an economic background, anyone can work in the field of stock exchange as long as there is a desire to learn and enthusiasm for issues regarding the capital market. The last presentation session was filled by Watty Buwanawati, she shared a lot about her experience in the banking world at home and abroad.
By organising this Financial Literacy Workshop, students are expected to help advance the world of capital markets so that it can also advance the economy in Indonesia.
