Jakarta, 14 Februari 2025 –The Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) Foundation successfully hosted a gathering with donors and management on Friday evening at Daun Muda Resto, Menteng. The event, which started at 6:30 PM WIB, was attended by 46 participants, including board members, trustees, and donors who have contributed to supporting education in Indonesia.

The event aimed to strengthen relationships between donors and management, create networking opportunities, and reinforce collaboration in advancing education through the scholarship programs run by the Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) Foundation.
Warm welcome speech by KSE Chairman, Mr. Adrian Karim Januar
After the guests signed the attendance book and took their assigned seats, the event began with an opening by the host. The Chairman of KSE, Adrian Karim Januar, delivered a warm welcome speech, emphasizing a renewed spirit for KSE and expressing gratitude to donors for their contributions in improving access to education for students across Indonesia.
The next speech was delivered by Mr. F. Chapman Taylor, Distinguished Philanthropist and Retired Partner, Capital Group and a member of the Board of Trustees of KSE. In his address, he appreciated the dedication and participation of donors in creating better educational opportunities.
"It takes effort and strong collaboration to reach greater heights. Thank you for all the dedication you have shown, and let us work together to build a brighter future for Indonesia," he stated.
Following the speeches, the event served as a platform for experience-sharing and networking between donors and the foundation's management. Participants had the opportunity to discuss their respective roles in supporting education in Indonesia.

One of the main donors, PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (PT INALUM), represented by Mr. Ali Hasan Harahap as Vice President of Community Development, also shared his thoughts on the company's involvement in the KSE scholarship program.
During the occasion, he expressed his appreciation for KSE’s efforts in Technology for Indonesia, a technology-based mentoring program that ensures the effective implementation of adopted technology for the wider community.
Besides being a moment to appreciate donors, this gathering also provided an opportunity for all participants to share experiences, engage in discussions, and build professional networks. In an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie, guests took advantage of the event to get to know each other better and exchange ideas on making meaningful contributions to the field of education.
The delivery of impressions and messages by PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia, represented by Mr. Andre Tjahjamuljo as the Country Operating Officer, and the sharing of an inspiring story by Dr. Erick Ary Tjawanta, a recipient of the KSE Scholarship Alumni.
On one occasion, Mr. Andre highlighted PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia's contributions to advancing education in Indonesia. One of the company's flagship programs, which has been conducted multiple times, is the financial literacy program aimed at enhancing scholarship recipients' understanding of managing their finances wisely. Additionally, Mr. Andre encouraged other stakeholders to collaborate and actively support the progress of education in Indonesia. He believes that collective contributions from various parties will have a greater impact on shaping a smart young generation that is ready to face future challenges.
Following Mr. Andre's remarks, the event continued with an inspiring story shared by Dr. Erick Ary Tjawanta, a 2009 recipient of the Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) scholarship from Universitas Sumatera Utara. Dr. Erick expressed that his achievements today would not have been possible without the support and encouragement provided by KSE. With unwavering determination, he successfully realized his dream of becoming a doctor. As a form of dedication, Dr. Erick has served as a doctor in various remote areas of Indonesia, including Papua, Kalimantan, and Sumatra. Currently, he is pursuing further studies to obtain a specialist degree, hoping to bring even greater benefits to society and the medical field in Indonesia.
