About Us / Governance / Ethical Policies & Standards
Guided by Integrity and Ethics
KSE has a set of internal policies that serve as the basis for carrying out all organizational activities. These policies serve to maintain integrity, consistency, and professionalism.
Foundational Policies of KSE
Code of Ethics
Ethical guidelines for advisors, supervisors, administrators, and operational teams in carrying out their roles and responsibilities.
Conflict of Interest Policy
Policies for preventing and managing conflicts of interest to ensure that every decision is made independently and objectively.
Governance & Compliance Policy
Guidelines for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and foundation provisions.
Whistleblowing & Reporting Mechanism
Internal reporting mechanisms to maintain organizational transparency and accountability.
Commitment To Donors
We steward every donation as a public trust through transparent and accountable governance.
Transparency
- Commitment: Donation funds are managed as public trust and reported periodically through the Annual Report & audited financial statements. The donor-program-beneficiary mechanism is traceable through activity reports and evaluations. Donors receive clarity on where funds are allocated, to whom, and for what purposes through special holistic reports twice a year.
- Implementation for Students: All scholarship recipients are required to submit 4 mandatory reports through the Scholarship Portal (beasiswa.or.id).
Accountability
- Commitment: Every rupiah donated is accounted for through internal systems, board oversight, and independent audits. KSE maintains a separation of functions: the Board and Executives (pro bono), and professional operational staff. Audited by KAP since 2005, and in 2024 independently audited by PwC.
- Implementation for Students: Students are responsible for ensuring that funds are used for educational purposes. Failure to comply with reporting obligations will affect the evaluation of scholarship status.
Quality & Impact
- Commitment: Donations not only produce outputs (number of recipients), but also outcomes and long-term impacts in the form of well-educated, characterful, and competitive graduates. Donors contribute to the creation of Indonesia’s superior human resources, not just short-term assistance.
- Implementation for Students: Students participate in structured coaching programs. Impact data is compiled into: financial impact (access to education), academic impact, capacity building & leadership impact, social impact & community service.
Publications & Reputation
- Commitment: Donors receive credible branding impact based on data and real stories. Social impact can be communicated ethically through reports, publications, and program collaborations.
- Implementation for Students: Organizational, social, and achievement activities are part of the non-academic impact assessment. The reporting system allows KSE to measure student development holistically.
Sustainability
- Commitment: Donations contribute to a sustainable, cross-generational scholarship system, not a one-time program. The KSE model ensures continuity of funding, governance, and regeneration of beneficiaries.
- Implementation among Students: Students are shaped by the value of “from receiver to giver.” Many alumni return as volunteers, mentors, trainers, and even individual donors. A cycle of sustainability is established: students → alumni → friends of KSE.
Data Protection & Ethics
- Commitment: Donors are assured that personal data and sensitive information are managed securely and ethically in accordance with data protection principles.
- Implementation for Students: Student data is managed through a system with role-based access restrictions. Personal information is not used for purposes other than KSE scholarships.cc
