Jakarta, March 4, 2025 – As part of its commitment to expanding access to higher education for Indonesia’s younger generation, the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE) has officially formed a strategic partnership with PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (BUMA International). Through this collaboration, KSE will distribute scholarships to 20 outstanding students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, 10 of whom are alumni of the PT Bisa Ruang Nuswantara (BIRU) scholarship program, a subsidiary of BUMA International.

In his speech, KSE Executive Chairman Adrian Karim Januar emphasized,
“Since its inception, KSE has contributed by providing need-based scholarships, opening access to higher education for those who are economically less fortunate. Over the past 30 years, KSE has awarded more than 30,000 scholarships to students from 35 universities across Indonesia. We are delighted to collaborate with BUMA International, which shares our vision of nurturing and developing Indonesia’s best talents. We hope this partnership serves as a starting point to create a broader impact on Indonesia’s education sector.”

The signing of this partnership took place in Jakarta on March 4, 2025, attended by KSE Executive Chairman Adrian Karim Januar, KSE Board of Trustees Rani Sofjan, KSE Secretary and COO Hengky Poerwowidagdo, BUMA International Director Iwan Fuad Salim, BUMA International GM ESG Neglasari Martini, BUMA International Group Head of Corporate Communication Kamelia Mohammad, and PT Bisa Ruang Nuswantara (BIRU) CEO Kanya Stira Sjahrir.

BUMA International Director, Iwan Fuad Salim, also expressed his enthusiasm:
“We are very excited about this collaboration. Education is the key to a brighter future, and we are proud to support the journey of Indonesia’s outstanding students.” KSE not only provides financial support but also offers skills development, mentoring, and extensive networking opportunities to comprehensively prepare students for the workforce. This partnership aligns with BUMA International’s goal of reducing Indonesia’s youth unemployment rate by 1% by 2035 by supporting students in their studies, careers, and entrepreneurship.

During the presentation session, KSE Executive Chairman Adrian Karim Januar explained that the KSE program goes beyond financial assistance, offering comprehensive student development support. The program is designed to provide students with educational access, skill-building, and professional networking opportunities.

“We ensure that students receiving scholarships don’t just get financial aid, but also skills training and professional networking that will benefit them after graduation,” he added.

Following the presentation, the event continued with the signing of the cooperation agreement between BUMA International and Karya Salemba Empat Foundation. This agreement marks the commitment of both parties to supporting education and creating more opportunities for Indonesia’s young generation.

The event became even more inspiring with testimonials from scholarship recipients.

Akbar Deva, a scholarship recipient from Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Solo, expressed his gratitude:
“This scholarship serves as a bridge for me to develop technical and software skills relevant to the industry. I hope to contribute both nationally and internationally with the knowledge I gain. Thank you to BUMA International and KSE for this opportunity.”

Other scholarship recipients, such as Agus from Sebelas Maret University (Solo) and Ardi from Hasanuddin University (Makassar), also shared their appreciation. Agus stated, “This scholarship opens opportunities for me to hone technical skills relevant to industry needs.”
Ardi added, “Through this program, I have gained better access to education and opportunities to participate in various activities that enrich my knowledge and experience.”

Through this partnership, KSE remains committed to expanding its reach, strengthening strategic collaborations, and making a tangible contribution to shaping Indonesia’s next generation of leaders.
