Our Journey
Developing Years
During the period 1995 – 2003, KSE laid the initial foundations for its program. The year 1995 marked the start of the scholarship program, which then expanded to include 12 recipients in 1997. In 1998, KSE was officially incorporated, and this growth continued until 2003 when the number of scholarship recipients increased to 40 students.
Growth Years
During the period 2004–2009, KSE entered a phase of growth by expanding its partnerships with universities and institutional donors. In 2004, the scholarship program began to reach campuses outside UI. A year later, the number of recipients increased to 140 students. In 2006, KSE underwent an external audit by a public accounting firm as a step towards professionalization. The peak came in 2009, when KSE launched a scholarship program for outstanding students.
Expansion Years
During the period 2010–2019, KSE entered a phase of expansion with growth in its network of partner campuses, donors, and scholarship recipients. The year 2010 was marked by the expansion of cooperation to state universities in Kalimantan and Sulawesi. In 2011, the number of recipients increased to 1,712 students. Expansion continued in 2016 with new partnerships in Papua and Ambon, bringing the total number of scholarship recipients to 3,458. By 2019, the KSE network had grown to include 34 partner state universities throughout Indonesia.
Transformation Years
During the 2020–2024 period, KSE entered a phase of transformation by adjusting its strategy to cope with various changes. The year 2020 marked the beginning of technology adoption in the coaching program. The partnership network continued to grow, reaching 35 state universities in 2021. In 2023, the number of scholarship recipients reached 2,143 students. Entering 2024, KSE strengthened its organization through new management and improved foundation governance.
