The event, held on September 27, 2025, took place at the Gedong Songo Temple Complex in Ungaran, Central Java. Organized by the Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) scholarship recipient community, the Diponegoro University KSE Association (KSE UNDIP), 25 employees from PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia (UBSSI), a KSE donor since 2012, participated.

The event began with remarks from KSE and UBSSI. Adrian Karim Januar, Executive Chairman of the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation, gave the opening remarks. Joshua Tanja, Managing Director and Country Head of PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia, followed by the opening remarks.
The next event was the symbolic tree planting in the Gedong Songo Temple area by Joshua and Adrian. With a total of 30 pine, tabebuya and avocado trees, the staff and employees of UBSSI, KSE and Paguyuban KSE UNDIP simultaneously planted the trees in the holes that had been provided. This tree planting activity is a manifestation of UBSSI’s concern for the ecosystem and the environment. The planted trees will help maintain nature’s sustainability, increase oxygen levels, become a habitat for animal biota, prevent erosion and beautify the environment of the Gedong Songo Temple complex.

Following the tree planting, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held with KSE UNDIP Scholarship Recipients. Participants were members of the KSE UNDIP Association, with speakers from UBSSI (University of Indonesia) present. The FGD focused on Organizational Strengthening and Community Development. This activity was highly beneficial for the Association as it strives to become an independent and thriving KSE Association.

Parallel to the FGD, a workshop was held to create ecoprints on goody bags, with speakers from the KSE UNDIP Association and UBSSI employees participating. Ecoprinting is a creative process that utilizes natural materials such as leaves and flowers to create unique patterns and colors. The resulting designs are reusable and highly valuable.

The event concluded with a trek around the Gedong Songo Temple complex, which consists of five main temples. Guided by speakers from Gedong Songo Temple, participants learned about Indonesian history and efforts to preserve the nation’s culture and history.
